This page outlines the exact steps to demonstrate the bug. If you are satisfied that you have already reproduced the problem, you can skip this page.
Start with Build 102
Run the demo and check the version you are currently running. If you are not running build 102 then you will need to uninstall Shockwave before you start. You can uninstall Shockwave from Add/Remove programs in the control panel.
If you do not already have them, you should download the installers for build 102 and 106. Install build 102. When you run the test movie, it should correctly report this version.
Verify your setup
Before testing for a negative result, you need to ensure you can get a positive with your current setup. Now that you are running build 102, there should be nothing to stop the movie running correctly from your local hard drive.
Open the HTML file and begin the test. It should report "OK", exactly as the online example. If it does not work, this is either because you do not have the files stored in a dswmedia folder, or you have a problem with your Shockwave installation.
Verify the problem
Now that you have verified that everything else on your system is OK, you can go on to verify the bug. You can install build 106 directly on top of build 102 (you can upgrade, but cannot downgrade, hence the order of testing in this example). As soon as you have upgraded your Shockwave installation to build 106, open the HTML file again.
This time, when you begin the test, you will not get the same result. The movie will display the "Waiting..." message, but the operation will never complete. It will not advance beyond this point.
